JAMB Registration 2026

This article explains the official JAMB registration commencement date, eligibility requirements, and full registration procedure for the 2026 UTME and Direct Entry.

JAMB Registration 2026

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has fixed January 26 as the official start date for the sale of application forms for the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) and Direct Entry (DE) admissions into Nigerian tertiary institutions.

JAMB 2026 Registration Date

JAMB has officially announced that the 2026 UTME/DE registration will begin on January 26, 2026. Candidates are advised to register early at approved CBT centres to avoid late registration issues.

JAMB Age Requirement for 2026 Registration

JAMB maintained the age benchmark for candidates. Only applicants who will be at least 16 years old by September 30, 2026 are generally eligible for admission consideration.

JAMB Registration Procedure 2026

Many JAMB candidates are often confused about profile codes, especially when they do not gain admission in a particular year and plan to try again the following year. Questions like: “Do I need to generate another profile code?” or “Can I use a different phone number?” are very common.

To avoid mistakes that can delay or completely disrupt your admission process, here is what you must know:

1. You can reuse your old profile code

If you generated a profile code in 2025, you can use the same profile code for the 2026 JAMB registration. Once a profile code is generated, it is permanently linked to your personal details on the JAMB database.

2. You must use the same phone number

You cannot use another phone number to generate a profile code for 2026 if you already generated one in 2025. The phone number used is permanently linked to your JAMB profile and will be used for important messages like exam updates, admission status and registration confirmation.
